Dr. Burruel received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, Master of Counseling, and Doctorate of Behavioral Health from Arizona State University. She has over a decade of behavioral and mental health experience including executive leadership, clinical supervision, and direct care in both nonprofit agency and private practice settings. Dr. Burruel is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an approved clinical supervisor with the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) since 2013.
Dr. Burruel has provided clinical supervision and mentoring for several counselors who successfully obtained their independent licenses, including Clinical Director, Lizabeth De Loera and Counselor/Therapist, Tawny Runnels. She has also supervised masters level counseling interns for Arizona State University and Grand Canyon University .
As a behavioral and mental health therapist, Dr. Burruel specializes in working with adults and adolescents ages 16 years and older. Her doctorate training included integrated care, which is the holistic treatment of both physical/medical and behavioral health, evidence-based interventions, management skills, and entrepreneurship approaches.

Lizabeth has eight years of behavioral and mental health experience including direct care, mentorship, and management experience. Lizabeth is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC).
As a behavioral and mental health therapist, Lizabeth specializes in working with adults and adolescents ages 16 years and older. She is also ALTA certified to provide counseling and therapy services in Spanish. She has facilitated multiple Spanish counseling, therapy, and support groups including groups for cancer patients and survivors. She also taught college readiness classes at Arizona State University.
Lizabeth has been trained in evidenced-based theories and interventions including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Person- Centered Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). Tawny received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Counseling from Arizona State University. Tawny has five years of behavioral and mental health experience including providing counseling and therapy services with youth, adults, couples, and families. Tawny is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and National Certified Counselor (NCC). Prior to Tawny’s counseling career, she was a small business owner and served in the United States Air Force.
As a behavioral and mental health therapist, Tawny specializes in working with adults and adolescents ages 16 years and older. She provides integrative counseling and therapy services based on the needs of the individual, couple, or family.
Tawny has been trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) amongst others. Tawny is also a Certified Mental Health Integrative Medicine Provider (CMHIMP) which allows her to explore the intersection between nutrition and its effect on mental health in order to move her clients closer to overall wellness.
Sydney is supervised by Lizabeth De Loera, Clinical Director & Bilingual Counselor/Therapist.
Sydney is currently pursuing her Master of Education in School Counseling for eligibility to be certified as both a professional school counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She is a student member of the American Counseling Association, which advocates for professional counselors and counselors in training to develop ethical and culturally-inclusive practices. Prior to pursuing her counseling degree, Sydney was an active volunteer in a collegiate group for natural disaster relief in the U.S.
Sydney has completed courses in counseling theories and techniques, social and cultural foundations of counseling, ethical and legal issues in professional counseling, human development across the lifespan, prevention and intervention techniques relating to adolescents, and educational foundations of the school system. Sydney's personal mission for her professional career is to work diligently, ethically, and passionately to the best of her abilities, in order to effectively work alongside others to achieve their individual wellness goals.
